Author Story: David Bettenhausen & Carla Bogni-Kidd

Inspired by true love and the truth, David Bettenhausen and Carla Bogni-Kidd set out to write a historically inspired novel to enlighten, challenge, inspire, and entertain readers. David and Carla have published three previous titles with 1106 Design, each of which outperformed most of the other publications in their respective genres. David and Carla returned to 1106 Design to publish their fourth title, Her Hooba and His Rose, because of the level of expertise, integrity, and professionalism they found here.

Why Self-publish?

Traditional publication no longer has interest in anyone other than the most famous authors, but that doesn’t have to inhibit authors from sharing their messages with the world. Self-publishing has torn down the barriers traditional publishers have erected.

To ensure their message was shared with the world, David and Carla chose the path of self-publishing, and 1106 Design helped make that route possible by providing a full range of services—from cover design to creating David and Carla’s author website—and ensuring a smooth process from start to finish.

Their Advice…

Authors should do their homework, ask questions, and be an active part of the process beyond writing the book. Remember that quality matters. If you’re not an expert in book design, layout, and editing it will show in the finished product. Trust the experts at 1106 Design to provide you with a quality, professional product that is worthy of your story.
