Your Self-Publishing Questions Answered (#43-44)

Self-Publishing Question #43 of 52: Should my photo and bio appear on the back cover of my book?

The author bio should be very brief and focused on your expert credentials; readers want to know your background and why you are qualified to write this book, particularly if your book is nonfiction. We recommend that you don’t include your photo here, so that the bulk of the space on the back cover can be used for the sales pitch. A longer author bio and picture can be included inside of the book.

Self-Publishing Question #44 of 52: What is the easiest way to get my book in front of the most readers?

Lightning Source automatically feeds titles to Amazon and other online retailers, sending payments directly to the author. This is the easiest way to get your book in front of the most readers without spending thousands of dollars up front for offset printing. But be aware that Lightning Source does not do any marketing.
